What information will we hold for you?

In order to process your order, deliver your items or contact you with a query, we will require information such as your name, telephone numbers, email address, home & delivery address and card payment details.

How will my information be kept secure?

We are committed to safeguarding your personal information. Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with all laws concerning the protection of personal information. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is The Alternative Cracker Company.

When you pay for your order with us you will be taken to a secure page which will be recognisable from both the browser address at the top, which will change from ‘http’ to ‘https’, and the secure padlock icon in the bottom of your web browser window. The card details you enter will then be encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology on this page.

To save you time when you make subsequent orders with us, we are able to save your payment card details for use against future orders.  Your details will be held with the Wix payment gateway who offer the highest level of card data security (PCI DSS Level 1 compliant). Your details will not be stored anywhere on our system.  When you make payment for a subsequent order, you will still be required to enter your card’s expiry date and 3 digit security code to action the payment.

What do I need to know about Cookies?

We use cookies on our site to give you a better shopping experience by allowing us to remember what is in your basket and remembering you when you return to our site.  A cookie is a text file containing small amounts of data that is stored on your device (e.g. computer, tablet or mobile phone) when you visit certain webpages.  Although you will need to have cookies enabled on your device to make a purchase from us, you can still browse our site without them.

Our site uses both ‘session’ and ‘persistent’ cookies.  Session cookies only last for the duration of your browsing session on the website and will expire when you log out of your accounts or close your browser.  Persistent cookies will stay on your device until you erase them or they expire a later date.  You may delete the cookies if your browser or browser add-on allows but choosing to do so may interfere with your use of our site.

The Alternative Cracker Company uses Google Analytics, a very commonly used website statistics service, to gather information about the traffic to our site and to measure conversions and sales. Cookies generate information about visitors behaviour and this is collected by Google and in turn used by us to understand our customer’s use of the site.

From time to time we may use other third parties that also use Cookies to help us analyse the use of our website and continuously improve it to meet customer’s needs.

Will you hold any of my details for future marketing purposes?

We hope you will enjoy your shopping experience with us, be thrilled with your purchases and want to shop with us again. For this reason, we will keep your details on our system so that we can contact you now and again with information about new products or offers that we think might be of interest to you.  We will never pass your details on to any third party.

Should you choose not to receive our printed matter in the future simply email hello@thealternativecrackercompany.com
